An EF4 came within a mile of our house before crossing K-10 and hitting Leawood and other rural areas near Lawrence. We were streaming Gary Lezak live on my phone from the basement. My husband is usually out taking photos during storms—this is the only time I remember him almost coming down to the basement. We could see the whole sky rotating around a center point beyond the neighbor’s trees. It was incredible and scary!
